DRIFT PANELS
Drift Panels is a design project developed for Dampa as part of the AAU initiative Reshape Waste, and a recipient of the iF Design Award 2026. The concept originates from a take-back scenario, where old ceiling panels are removed and often damaged in the process. Instead of discarding these imperfect elements, the project embraces the flaw by amplifying it, transforming dents into a deliberate and defining feature.
Inspired by the movement of ocean waves, the design explores how flowing patterns interact and interfere, creating a balance between complexity and order. Like reflections shifting across water, the panels evoke a deeply human experience, the quiet act of gazing out over an ever-changing surface, where patterns continuously emerge, dissolve, and reappear.
Each panel can be rotated in all four directions while maintaining a coherent pattern, allowing for endless configurations. The result is a flexible system that invites exploration and reveals new expressions from every angle.
