ORCHID
The Orchid Chair draws inspiration from one of the world’s most cloned plants. Orchids are replicated and distributed globally, carrying natural beauty from a single specimen into homes across continents. This principle became the conceptual foundation of the project, translating biological reproduction into a new form of digital and democratic manufacturing.
Shaped by patterns and structures found in nature, the chair explores how emerging technologies can make design more accessible and widely distributed. Instead of centralized production, the object exists as a digital file that can be downloaded globally and produced locally on standard home 3D printers.
The project reflects an ambition to merge natural aesthetics, modern technology, and alternative production systems into a more open and accessible design language. A single file, endlessly reproducible, carrying the intention of spreading a small fragment of natural beauty into everyday environments around the world.
